Overview

Join Mountain Rose Herbs, a progressive Oregon-based leader in high quality organic products, as we continue expanding our vibrant retail presence. The Palm Springs Store Manager will plan and lead the daily operations of Mountain Rose Herbs' retail store within the Palm Springs area with a focus on profitability and ensuring excellent customer service. The Store Manager must develop a keen understanding of MRH's culture and promote our core principles of supporting organic agriculture, sustainability, and herbal education to community partners and the staff members they oversee.

This is a full-time position which requires working under strict deadlines. Hours may vary week to week and may include nights, holidays, and weekends. This is a full-time, hourly position $25.00 - 38.00 DOE with benefits after 90 days.

  • Prioritize tasks for all staff and delegate tasks when appropriate.
  • Shift gears at a moment s notice and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions
  • Be dependable - consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, and respond to management feedback.
  • Be proactive - continue to develop skills, gain additional knowledge, and solicit feedback for improved performance.
  • Follow all MRH procedures, policies, and protocols. Report any health, safety, or equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Follow and enforce rules laid out not only in the Employee Handbook but also any/all applicable rules, regulations and guidelines for employee privacy, confidentiality, etc.
  • Possess knowledge of and high proficiency in all duties expected of a retail store team member.
  • Demonstrate this expertise as a mentor and trainer for staff.
  • Whenever necessary, step in to cover breaks and entire shifts for team members.
  • Supervisory Duties
  • Assess staffing needs and manage hiring with HR and the Director.
  • Train, support, and guide employees; maintain training materials.
  • Oversee scheduling, workflow, timekeeping, and payroll coordination.
  • Lead staff communication and meetings; ensure information flows effectively.
  • Document personnel matters and participate in evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Daily Operations
  • Maintain organized operational and personnel records.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and address customer issues.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, pricing, returns, and product management.
  • Manage POS functions, ordering, deliveries, and basic accounting tasks.
  • Uphold store cleanliness, safety, merchandising, and promotional standards.
  • Provide theft control and de-escalation training and enforcement as set by the Director.
  • Represent MRH in the greater Palm Springs business community to foster positive relationships and community engagement.
  • Monitor customer trends, maintain product knowledge, and manage store ambience.
  • Coordinate store social media with Marketing to maintain brand alignment.
  • Oversee Green Team and Safety Team activities and communicate key updates.
  • Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion either locally or for overnight trips.
  • Willingness to learn and perform new procedures, equipment, and technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • 5+ years of previous retail store management experience preferred.
  • Possess herbal knowledge and a willingness to learn more.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit or stand for periods of time while on the sales floor and stock room, performing data entry duties, on the phone, etc.
  • Must be able to assist with helping load orders for customers, this may include lifting and carrying of heavy materials.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Associated twisting, pulling, bending at knees and at waist, or reaching up associated with retrieving products as necessary.
