Salary Range: $26.00 To $27.00 Hourly
JOB SCOPEResponsible for repairing and maintaining all HVAC equipment (e.g. heating, air conditioning and refrigeration) in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a comfortable and seamless guest experience. Also participate in non-HVAC repairs and maintenance as needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS- Tear down, remove, repair and/or replace AC units.
- Clean fan coils and replace filters.
- Be familiar with BCU computer unit and adjust computer settings as needed.
- Repair and/or defrost and maintain room refrigerators.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain kitchen refrigerator/freezer units including walk-ins, reach-ins and in-line equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain ice makers in good working condition.
- Maintain required records on HVAC equipment.
- Interact with HVAC vendors to ensure required parts and/or materials are available.
- Adjust and repair toilets, sinks, tubs, leaks, etc.
- Open clogged drains.
- Install piping hookup to various plumbing fixtures.
- Maintain (assemble, disassemble and clean) fire protection piping system, sprinkler heads, pumps, valves, steam traps, bolt flanges, gaskets, pump-packing, etc.
- Remove and/or install plumbing fixtures.
- Repair and/or replace electrical household appliances (lamps, TV's, hairdryers, etc.)
- Replace light bulbs (high reach).
- Replace and/or repair lights, receptacles, switches, and wiring of such devices.
- Troubleshoot, correct, and repair interruptions in electrical service.
- Provide special electrical service for special functions (displays, shows, etc.)
- Repair and/or replace electrical controls to all electromechanical devices.
- Identify and label all power distribution points when necessary.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment.
- Troubleshoot and trace problems in audio and electronic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain smoke detectors in safe working condition.
- Remove, prep, prime, wallpaper surfaces and install wall coverings.
- Plaster, spackle and tape walls and ceilings, etc.
- Paint rooms, hallway, floors/ceiling, doors, pipes and equipment, etc.
- Remove and/or install tiles, caulking, wallboards, baseboards, marble, etc.
- Refinish furniture.
- Mix colors for painting.
- Ensure the safe storage of all paint and paint related chemicals.
- Install hinges, hooks, pictures, doors, and other general accessories.
- Install carpeting.
- Build and/or install shelving, wall guards, etc.
- Refinish and/or repair furniture.
- Build benches, platforms, cabinets, frames, tables, etc.
- Install, repair, adjust locks, strikes, door checks, etc.
- Open jammed locks, deposit boxes, room safes, doors, luggage, etc.
- Make keys.
- Perform daily water quality check.
- Maintain accurate daily records of water quality, temperature, filter readings, etc.
- Clean debris from pool and vacuum pool as required.
- Ensure the safe storage of all pool chemicals and maintain inventory.
- Log in daily to Hotel Expert system to activate pager and deactivate pager at end of shift.
- Respond to pager calls, complete calls, close calls and delete calls from pager.
- Pick up non-pager work orders, complete assignment and record actions taken.
- Respond to phone, pager and radio messages in a timely manner.
- Complete standard daily, weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly log sheets.
- Perform daily meter readings.
- Record daily activities completed in daily shift log.
- Maintain shop and storage areas in a clean, safe manner.
- Safely operate all equipment.
- Coordinate with Supervisor or office with respect to needed inventory.
- Maintain roof drainage and roofing materials for all buildings.
- Assist other departments with moving or lifting projects as requested .
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- At least two years experience in all areas of building trades.
- Excellent mechanical and operational troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- HVAC certification.
- Experience with using and maintaining variety of tools.
- Understanding of the safe use and storage of chemicals, e.g. paint, pool, etc.
- Experience in problem solving and critical thinking.
- Previous experience in a hotel engineering environment
