You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer Staff - Skunk works for the Skunk works team which is responsible for delivering cutting-edge mechanical solutions for advanced aerospace systems. What You Will Be Doing As the Mechanical Design Engineer Staff - Skunk works you will be responsible for turning complex concepts into flight-qualified hardware that enables next-generation missions. Your responsibilities will include:
* Designing electromagnetic and RF components, including antennas and radomes, to meet stringent performance criteria.
* Developing support structures and composite/metallic components for high-stress, flight-qualified hardware.
* Creating full-scale RCS/RF test fixtures and ensuring they are calibrated for accurate data collection.
* Integrating mechanical designs with classified projects and providing technical support throughout the development lifecycle.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate designs against system requirements and launch schedules. Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree
- Working knowledge of CATIA V5, 3DExperience, NX, or similar CAD experience.
- Experience with detail part / assembly design.
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- The candidate is not expected to be an expert, but should have knowledge in the fields of technical design and fabrication of metallic/composites materials.
- Experience with design/integration of air vehicle platform(s) or aerospace components
Desired
Skills:
- Experience with mechanical design of Electromagnetic/RF components, electrical packaging, power system layout, and circuit board design.
- General knowledge in fundamental EM theories
- Experience in design for additive manufacturing
- Experience managing various programmatics of projects (schedule, costs, procurement activity)
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
