Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Sr Principal Engineer Aeronautical – Hydraulics Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, Ca.
The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.
Roles And Responsibilities Will Include- Serve as the subject matter expert for the hydraulics subsystem
- Lead a small team that defines and champions system improvement initiatives as they become necessary,
- Serve as an engineering representative in the supplier management team for all suppliers providing components of the subsystem,
- Perform system analysis as needed to serve specialty engineering needs,
- Define and document changes and revisions to the subsystem
- Provide direct response to subsystem needs as they arise from the user, the customer, and/or program leadership.
- Present effective technical briefs on all of the above for all levels of consumption (i.e. user, customer, program leadership, etc.).
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.
Basic Qualifications- Sr. Principal:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience. - Experience working with diverse technical teams and leading others.
- Experience working with aeronautic hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development
- Proficient with typical office toolsets such as Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient at locating and examining technical data from Computer Aided Design
- Experience using CATIA V5 to examine 3D models
- Experience using Team Center Engineer and Enterprise to locate and examine technical data
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain subsequent SAP PARs following commencement of employment to be able to completely support statement of work.
- Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Experience working on Special Access Programs
- Experience with hydraulic system design and analysis
- Experience applying Siemens AMESIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar analysis tools to hydraulic subsystems
