Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Quality/Engineer Quality. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Sector in Palmdale, CA.
Duties- The selected candidate will develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Other duties include:
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
- May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
- This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Quality or Engineer Quality
- Be completing or has completed their bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.
- Be majoring in or having majored in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial engineering or similar STEM degree.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Qualifications — Engineer Quality
- Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.
- Be majoring in or having majored in list degree majors that are acceptable for position or similar STEM degree.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). - Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
