Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed’s Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development, including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean-sheet solutions and improvements to existing systems. Some of our unclassified projects include the U‑2, SR‑71 Blackbird, F‑22 Raptor, F‑117 Nighthawk, and the F‑35 Lightning II.

What You Will Be DoingThe primary focus for this role is to support the various projects developing new manufacturing technology and the processes and hardware that lead to successful manufacturing technology insertions. As part of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Man Tech) team this role supports a project team or leads and manages smaller projects. This role is focused on manufacturing applied metrology technology and processes, including expertise in advanced metrology equipment and software such as laser‑based scanners, optical metrology, dimensional analysis software, as well as process familiarity in quality and calibration methods, fabrication aspects, automated and manual assembly processes.

Role Description
- Executions of planning, development, and integration of advanced manufacturing technology and processes to resolve technical manufacturing problems.
- Technical and project management contributor towards metrology‑based projects.
- This role will perform functions such as budget and schedule management, status reporting, cost‑benefit analysis, trade studies, etc. as well as technology development functions, MRL (manufacturing readiness level) assessments, process definition and testing, industry capability evaluations and technical demonstrations.
- This position includes engineering, technical, and project management aspects for projects ranging in life cycle phase from manufacturing process investigation and development to test and improvements, manufacturing equipment and system specification, procurement and supplier management, integration and production support.

Further Information About This Opportunity- Must be a US citizen, this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
- Existing or the ability to attain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience working with geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experience developing advanced technology, processes, and requirements definition.
- Experience with quality and calibration standards, gauge repeatability and reliability techniques.
- Experience with aerospace production environments and processes.
- Secret level security clearance.
- Experience working in advanced manufacturing concepts as they relate to current and emerging aircraft platforms.
- Knowledge of military aircraft design, fabrication, assembly, finishes, and inspection methods and tools.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for a broad range of metrology systems and capabilities.
- Knowledge of industry metrology software tools such as Polyworks and similar.
- Creative approach to technical problem solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
