You will be the Simulation & System Test (SST) Engineer for the Skunk Works – Advanced Development Programs team. Our team is responsible for integrating and testing mission‑system capabilities on advanced aircraft, in high‑fidelity laboratory, on flight‑test‑bed, and in flight‑test solutions that enable the development of next‑generation platforms.
Responsibilities- Develop test requirements and detailed procedures based on system specifications.
- Execute integration and test activities in laboratory settings and evaluate system performance on flying test‑beds.
- Support mission‑system flight‑test evaluations and report results to stakeholders.
- Interface with engineers, pilots, and program leadership, leveraging deep technical background and strong communication skills.
- Apply expertise in modern, software‑intensive mission‑system architectures and a solid understanding of military aircraft functionality.
10‑20% travel required.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a technical engineering discipline, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with avionics, hardware, or software systems integration and test procedure development.
- Experience with avionics, mission planning, integration, and test.
- Background in requirements development and integration and test processes.
- Strong laboratory skills; flight test experience a plus.
- Networking experience a plus.
- Experience working across multiple engineering domains.
- Script development in Eggplant, Python, and Batch.
Security Clearance: This position requires a US DoD Top Secret clearance, and the candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to maintain the clearance.
Location: Palmdale, CA.
Compensation: Annual base salary range for the position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400–$129,260. For other states, the range reflects the final work location.
