Technical Publications Writer – Level 3. You will author maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft, requiring hands‑on experience developing aeronautics technical publications.

As a Technical Publications Writer – Level 3, you will author maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft, requiring hands‑on experience developing aeronautics technical publications.

Successful candidate will be able to:

• Effectively work with multiple engineering and customer support representatives
• Utilize engineering technical data to develop aircraft maintenance instructions

• Work with a team and independently to develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentation
• Verify and certify technical publications content to ensure corrective measures are met and documentation is compliant with requirements
• Communicate with engineering and customers to fulfill program requirements

• Holds a Final DoD Secret Clearance
• Experience interfacing with operational and maintenance personnel in dynamic operational work environments
• Experience interpreting complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and/or specifications
• Familiar with MIL‑STDs, MIL‑DTLs, and/or Tech Order authoring of military manuals; experience controlling changes and version control, supporting release management

• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with markup language authoring (knowledgeable in element and attribute XML tagging for S1000D‑compliant interactive electronic publications)
• Experience with database entry and management
• Experience evaluating technical order changes
• Understanding of aircraft inspection requirements
• Experience with electronic technical publications task relationships, applicability, and change management

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level:
Secret.

Palmdale, CA. Telecommuting not possible; some travel may be required.

4×10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.

Annual base salary range (excluding most major metropolitan areas): $77,700 – $136,965. (Higher range may apply for metro areas: $89,300 – $154,905.)
