Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for subsystem engineering for fuel, propulsion, fire protection, and ECS: translate system requirements into hardware/software designs, allocate requirements, and maintain traceability from requirements to verification artifacts.
  • Prepare and present effective technical briefs on all of the above for all levels of consumption (i.e., user, customer, program leadership, etc.).
  • Provide technical leadership as Responsible Engineer: lead design reviews and change control, track technical risks and mitigations, mentor engineers, and maintain subsystem configuration control.
  • Lead detailed mechanical design and documentation (drawings, BOMs, tolerance stacks, interface control documents) for pumps, valves, feedlines, thrust components, fire detection/suppression hardware, ducts, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory, safety, and certification standards (e.g., fuel-system and fire-protection regulations applicable to the associated system), produce supporting artifacts for safety boards and certification packages.
  • Serve as an engineering representative in the supplier management team for all suppliers providing components of the subsystem, performing system analysis as needed to serve specialty engineering needs, defining and documenting changes and revisions to the subsystem, and providing direct response to subsystem needs as they arise from the user, the customer, and/or program leadership.
  • Define and validate performance, mass, structural, thermal, fluid-dynamic, and durability requirements; perform sizing, calculations, and analyses to ensure systems meet operational and environmental specifications.
  • Collaborate across propulsion, systems, avionics, structures, thermal, manufacturing, and test teams to coordinate interfaces, timing, packaging, routing, and certification evidence.
  • Define and enforce manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test criteria; manage supplier technical flow down, vendor qualification, acceptance criteria, and resolution of fabrication issues.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on‑site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.
