Systems Engineer, Safety Engineer
Position Overview
The Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the products developed at Lockheed Martin Skunk works and sold to the customer are safe for use. The primary job responsibility will be performing Hazard Analysis (Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), Functional Hazard Analysis, Basic Fault Tree Analysis) and developing the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) per MIL-STD-882, FAA Systems Safety Handbook and contract requirements.
BasicQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in an Engineering discipline or Aviation.
- Experience conducting System Safety analyses, in compliance with MIL-STD-882 or equivalent.
- Solid technical background.
- Experience supporting System Safety Working Groups (SSWG).
- Experience in analytical analysis.
- Experience presenting in front of large groups.
- Experience in performing safety and hazard analyses.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.
CompensationThe annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.

Schedule:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
