Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Sr. Staff Aeronautical Engineer - Vehicle Subsystem Integration Lead. The position can be based in Oklahoma City, OK;
Palmdale, CA;
Whiteman AFB, MO; or San Diego, CA.
The Vehicle Engineering Lead will run vehicle engineering execution for the B-2 Modular Rotary Launch Assembly (MRLA) program. This will include leadership of Vehicle Engineering support of weapon system integration and installation. The role combines expertise in vehicle engineering disciplines with proven program leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Execution of milestones, and technical development aligned with MRLA program objectives.
- Lead engineering sub-disciplines to manage execution and ensure quality of technical work products.
- Work with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to source integrate weapons subsystem components
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of related engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading engineering teams, preferably of 20+ engineers.
- Proven record of delivering complex vehicle systems (ground, airborne, or maritime).
- Experience with CAD/CAE tools (Solid Works, CATIA, NX).
- Active US Government Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant STEM discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, budgets >$50M, and schedules using Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder influence, and decision‑making skills in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments.
- Active Top Secret or Special Access Program (SAP) access
- Experience leading aircraft production efforts
- Experience with weapons systems design/integration

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
