Job Overview

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, known for building advanced military aircraft, seeks a Flight Test Project Engineer. The engineer will serve as the central liaison for all flight‑test logistics, overseeing supply‑chain and procurement coordination, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring timely acquisition of hardware and consumables.

Responsibilities include managing preventive‑maintenance and calibration of flight‑test facilities, equipment, and ground‑support assets; coordinating back‑shop machining, refurbishment, and lab‑support projects to meet test schedules; maintaining configuration‑management records; preparing status reports; enforcing safety and compliance standards; and collaborating with engineers and external vendors to resolve issues quickly and keep flight‑test programs on‑track.

Qualifications – Basic
  • Minimum 3–5 years of aerospace industry experience supporting flight‑test, production operations, logistics, or procurement.
  • Proficiency with configuration‑management tools (e.g., EDMS, PLM).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, part numbers, and technical specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
  • Secret Clearance.
Qualifications – Desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with supply‑chain and procurement processes for aerospace hardware and consumables.
  • Knowledge of preventive‑maintenance, calibration, and certification of flight‑test facilities and ground‑support equipment.
  • Familiarity with back‑shop machining, refurbishment, and lab‑support project coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data‑analysis tools; exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Experience preparing status and compliance reports.
  • Strong problem‑solving aptitude and proven track record of collaborating with engineers, vendors, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Understanding of safety and compliance regulations relevant to flight‑test programs (e.g., OSHA, FAA, DoD).
  • Ability to travel occasionally to test sites or vendor facilities.
  • Top Secret Clearance.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position requires a government security clearance and is located at a facility that requires special access.
