PositionEarly Career Systems Design & Installation Engineer – Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Full‑Time, First Shift.
Responsibilities- Design the installation of aircraft mechanical systems, including, but not limited to, hydraulics and pneumatics subsystem routing, environmental control systems (ECS), fuel line routing, escape system subcomponents, etc.
- Conduct trade studies and evaluate alternatives, optimizing form, fit, and function of the mechanical systems installations.
- Define, develop, and finalize mechanical layouts and system interfaces.
- Create build‑to‑package documents for detailed parts, assemblies, and installations.
- Design the installation of aircraft equipment and crew station hardware of line replacement units (LRUs), control panels, and other cockpit systems (displays, radios, etc.) and their supporting hardware.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with CATIA, Solid Works, or other CAD applications.
- U.S. citizen; position requires a government security clearance and special access to a facility.
- Experience with metallic design.
- Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team‑based environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Secret clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Compensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary range: $57,500 – $101,430 (for designated states). In major metropolitan areas, the range is $66,200 – $114,655. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
