Sr. Skunk Works Subsystem Design Engineer - Level 3

Job Description

Sr. Skunk Works Subsystem Design Engineer for Advanced Development Programs Skunk Works®. Responsible for pioneering aerospace subsystem innovations.

Deliver high‑performance subsystem solutions that enable next‑generation aircraft.

• Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action
• Create and maintain 3‑D CATIA models, assemblies, installations, and associated documentation
• Coordinate with suppliers, integrated product teams, management, and customers
• Support manufacturing, ground/flight test, and customer operating locations

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
• Experience with CAD tools such as 3DX, CATIA, Solid Works, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX
• Experience creating and/or modifying drawings
• Experience with aircraft subsystem design, installation, and troubleshooting
• Hands‑on experience with aircraft modifications
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance

Skills:

• Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
• Experience with metallic design
• Experience with tubing and equipment installations
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Active Secret Clearance
• 5 years of professional experience or 3 years with a related master’s degree

U.S. citizen required. Must possess an active Secret clearance at the start of employment.
