Tooling Design Engineer
An opportunity is available for a Tooling Design Engineer to support a tool design department. This role involves designing industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments for production or experimental use. The position requires consideration of factors such as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design industrial machinery, equipment, and various manufacturing tools.
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs.
- Develop and maintain 3D models and drawings of components and sub-assemblies using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Create drawings, tolerance stack-up analyses, and models from supplied information.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings in accordance with industry standards.
- Participate in design reviews with the engineering team.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to simplify manufacturing functions.
- Complete assigned tasks within established project timelines.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years of Catia design experience with high proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing.
Technical
Skills:
- CATIA v5 Experience
- Tooling Design Experience including knowledge in designing castings, stampings, and turned components.
- Understanding and usage of GD&T for proper application on drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- NX Nastran
- Siemens NX
