Material & Process Engineer (Signature Management) - Early Career

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Palmdale, CA is seeking a full-time early career Material & Process Engineer within the Signature Management and Survivability team. In this role, you will work alongside a team of engineers and technicians in a hands-on engineering and fabrication environment to support the design, development, fabrication, and/or testing of advanced materials for a range of LM Aero programs.

The types of materials involved may include, but are not limited to: polymers, composites, thin films, coatings, foams and honeycombs, ceramics and glasses, and additively-manufactured materials. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a laboratory environment and knowledge of electrical and magnetic properties of materials.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering or Chemical Engineering
• Experience working in a laboratory environment
• Familiarity with electrical and magnetic properties of materials
• Must be a US citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

  Electrical and Magnetic Properties of Materials (or equivalent)
• Demonstrated ability in the design, fabrication, and/or testing of new materials
• Familiar with developing engineering specifications and procedures
• Proficient in project planning/project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

  The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
• Work Schedules:
  Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
• Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
• Pay Rate:
  The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $63,600 - $119,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
