You will be the Nuclear Hardening and Survivability Engineer – Level 5 for the Aeronautics team which is responsible for ensuring aircraft avionics and mission systems remain operable in hostile nuclear environments.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Nuclear Hardening and Survivability Engineer – Level 5 you will be responsible for providing deep technical leadership on the design, analysis, testing, and certification of avionics and mission systems that must survive HEMP, ionizing radiation, thermal flash/radiation, blast, gust, and over‑pressure events.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and validating hardening strategies and survivability metrics that meet U.S. military nuclear survivability standards.
- Leading system‑engineering integration and test activities for NH&S program plans, including derivation of hardening requirements.
- Conducting analysis, testing, and certification of avionics and mission systems to demonstrate compliance with nuclear‑environment specifications.
- Coordinating with cross‑functional teams to ensure requirements verification and validation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and analysts working on nuclear hardening initiatives.
