You will be the Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 3 for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) which is responsible for advancing aircraft structural solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Airframe Structural Design Engineer - Level 3 you will be responsible for delivering innovative structural designs that meet rigorous performance and safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and modify primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.
- Develop, test, and validate aircraft structural designs.
- Generate system requirements, conduct trade studies, draft statements of work, and prepare test plans.
- Coordinate with internal Integrated Product Teams and interact with external IPTs and suppliers.

You are a collaborative, detail-oriented engineer with proven expertise in aircraft structural design. You thrive in multidisciplinary teams, bring rigorous analytical skills, and are driven to solve complex engineering challenges.

The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in airframe structure design
- Experience with CATIA V5
- Experience with 2D Drafting and 3D modeling of detail parts, assemblies, and GD&T
- Experience with Bill of Materials and drawing structure
- Experience with metallic design
- Experience with aircraft structural repairs
Desired skills
- Experience with MRB coordination and support
- Experience with sheet metal design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Experience with basic hand stress analysis
- Experience with aircraft coatings and design
- Experience with composite design
- Experience with component selection and integration
- Experience developing technical documents
- Experience with aircraft corrosion remediation

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765.…
