What You Will Be Doing
This is an overseas field service assignment with the U‑2 program at RAF Fairford, UK. The selected candidate will perform duties on the flight line and phase dock under the direction of supervising personnel. Responsibilities include hands‑on technician work, providing technical advisement, and acting as a Air Force (AF) 7‑skill level augmentee in electrical and avionics, and a 5‑skill level or better in electronic warfare and IADL/DDL‑2 data link system specialties on the flight line.
The role requires troubleshooting skills, knowledge of technical data, U‑2 drawing system, work documentation systems, and hands‑on expertise. Familiarity with AF rules and processes for aircraft maintenance activities is preferred, as is the ability to provide informal on‑the‑job training on U‑2 electrical and avionics systems to AF personnel. The candidate will work a six‑day work week, may work odd hours and varying schedules, and may be required to live in government‑furnished quarters and travel by military airlift.
The position is mission‑essential and worldwide deployable, which includes anthrax/smallpox vaccinations, chemical warfare training, exercise participation, and other related mobility training. The candidate must be able to work effectively with others and strengthen team effort. Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

This position requires a government security clearance; the candidate must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level:
Secret.
Annual base salary range varies by state; for California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC it is $81,600 – $143,865. For most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York the range is $93,800 – $162,610. Base salary is a general guideline only and may reflect scope of responsibilities, experience, education, and market factors.
