Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Requirements and Verification Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in either San Diego, CA
, El Segundo, CA
, or Palmdale, CA
.
- Perform system definition activities for features and DRs, including by defining use cases, requirements, and feature acceptance criteria.
- Support cross-IPT development of system and segment level requirements and use cases
- Implement requirements verification methodology and traceability
- Support development of interface definitions and integration plans
- Conduct formal integration and support capabilities-based system level testing of fully integrated complex software and hardware subsystems
- Evaluate integration and test anomalies and assist disposition and correction of issues as found
- Perform requirements verification and selloff
- Provide support to flight test and fielded assets
- Coordinate with REs and System Test to ensure integrated functions are ready for the test team to formally verify
- Apply the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with action orientation, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills
- Use experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR
- Leverage knowledge of full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification and requirements management
- Work full-time, on-site at our facility with no remote/hybrid/telework; travel up to 25% may be required
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field and 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM field 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant military / professional experience
- Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Current SAP clearance to program
- Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills
- Experience in ICD development and integration
- Experience in System Test
- Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders
- Experience with multiple disciplines across Systems Engineering, incl. requirements, integration, technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline), cyber
- Experience in DOORS & Atlassian Tool Suite
- Experience with Agile Design Methodology
Primary Level Salary Range: $ - $
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
