Description
You will be the U-2 Technical Publications Writer - Level 2 for the Technical Publications Team which is responsible for authoring maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentation both independently and with a team.
- Verify and certify publication content to meet corrective measures and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer support representatives to gather needed data.
- Translate engineering technical data into clear maintenance instructions.
- Business Travel as required to support program needs.

Base salary:
Annual range varies by location (e.g., $63,800 - $112,470 for certain states; $73,400 - $127,075 for major metropolitan areas). Pay rate information is a general guideline only.

Onsite Full‑time:
The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Schedule:
4‑10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
You are a collaborative technical writer with strong analytical skills, experienced in aerospace maintenance documentation, thriving in fast‑paced environments, and capable of synthesizing complex engineering data to communicate with cross‑functional teams. Your attention to detail ensures compliance and safety, and you are ready to contribute to mission‑critical programs.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of aircraft operation and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, commercial technical manuals, technical drawings, and/or schematics.
- Experience with markup language authoring, knowledgeable in element and attribute XML tagging for S1000D‑compliant interactive electronic publications.
Desired
Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Previous aircraft maintenance background.
- Familiar with the Tech Order system and/or experience with Technical Publications software.
- Experience evaluating technical order changes.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field (preferred).
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. This position requires a government security clearance and an active Secret clearance to start. Clearance Level: Secret.
