Airframe Structural Design Engineer
- Level 3
Designs, develops, and tests a variety of power plants, aircraft, missiles, and parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight. Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests. You will be the Airframe Structural Design Engineer
- Level 3 for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) which is responsible for advancing aircraft structural solutions.
As the Airframe Structural Design Engineer
- Level 3 you will be responsible for delivering innovative structural designs that meet rigorous performance and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and modify primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.
- Develop, test, and validate aircraft structural designs.
- Generate system requirements, conduct trade studies, draft statements of work, and prepare test plans.
- Coordinate with internal Integrated Product Teams and interact with external IPTs and suppliers.

You are a collaborative, detail‑oriented engineer with proven expertise in aircraft structural design. You thrive in multidisciplinary teams, bring rigorous analytical skills, and are driven to solve complex engineering challenges. - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in airframe structure design
- Experience with CATIA V5
- Experience with 2D Drafting and 3D modeling of detail parts, assemblies, and GD&T
- Experience with Bill of Materials and drawing structure
- Experience with metallic design
- Experience with aircraft structural repairs

- Experience with MRB coordination and support
- Experience with sheet metal design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Experience with basic hand stress analysis
