We are seeking an experienced Aeronautical Engineer to support Advanced Development Programs – Skunk Works
, focused on the design and integration of next-generation weapon systems and advanced aerospace platforms.
In this role, you will drive aircraft integration, airframe structural design, and multidisciplinary design synthesis while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, production, suppliers, and program teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support integration and design synthesis across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, thermodynamics, electronics, controls, and actuation
. - Conduct multidisciplinary system trade studies to optimize performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability.
- Design and analyze airframe structures using metallic and composite materials.
- Collaborate with fabrication, assembly,
MRB, quality, manufacturing, and supply-chain teams to resolve technical issues and support production. - Interface with suppliers, customers, program management, and internal engineering organizations.
- Prepare and present technical briefings, engineering documentation, and program materials.
- Support design reviews and technical decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
- Mentor early-career engineers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
. - 10+ years of experience in airframe structural design and analysis
. - 10+ years of experience with metallic and/or composite aerospace structures
. - 10+ years of experience with CATIA V5 and/or 3DX/3
DEXPERIENCE
. - Strong understanding of aircraft/airframe structural design principles.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary aerospace engineering environments.
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience working with Lockheed Martin Business Areas (BAs).
- Experience interacting with suppliers, external customers, and production operations.
- Experience supporting MRB (Material Review Board) activities.
- Experience performing hand stress analysis
. - Experience with hypersonic or boost-glide systems
. - Strong systems integration and design synthesis experience.
- Excellent technical communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional technical efforts
