Position: Engineering Tech 2/3 - Electronics - Northrop Grumman

Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Engineering Technician 2/3 to join the team of qualified individuals. Position is located in Palmdale, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for building, integrating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining communications hardware in laboratory environments, ranging from a single equipment rack to 10+ racks.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings, interconnect diagrams, and configuration/recovery documentation to support prototype builds, fabrication/modification, startup and shutdown procedures, ATP/delivery, and post-delivery support.
  • Performs routine operational and environmental tests, collects data, and isolates faults to the component level to verify conformance with design specifications using standard diagnostic equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, VOM/DVM, signal generators).
  • Produces engineering documentation and reports, including drawings such as flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics, and performs detailed calculations and preliminary data analyses using established formulas and guidelines.

* This position may be filled at either level based on qualifications below**

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
  • Must have a High School Diploma AND 2 years of related professional/military experience.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
  • Must have a High School Diploma AND 4 years of related professional/military experience.
Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:
  • Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Note:

    SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies.
  • Working experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Working experience with industry standards for connectors including, but not limited to D38999, Dsub, twinax, RJ45, etc.
  • Must have color vision to identify cables and wires.
  • Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
