Ground System Engineer

Description

Lockheed Martin specializes as a System Engineer that acts as a system expert. Performs computer administration functions including software installations and upgrades, user account and hardware maintenance. Performs real-time troubleshooting of complex hardware/software anomalies with analysis and evaluation of assets under test. Executes readiness tests to verify system under test functionality. Performs pre and post system checkouts and ensures asset readiness for test.

Ensures all paperwork and configuration management tracking is correct prior to test. Writes and issues test documentation to perform maintenance tasks and maintains configuration control.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or equivalent aviation experience/combined education.

DoD IAT Level II Certification (Security+)

• System Administration knowledge and experience on Windows platforms
• Knowledge of avionics systems and/or flight test concepts
• Windows and/or Linux operating systems certification is desired
• System Administration experience with network storage (SAN / NAS servers)
• Complex troubleshooting/problem solving skills
• Familiarization with RF technology
• Experience working with fiber optics
• Familiarization with Cisco and/or Juniper network equipment
• Must be willing to work different shifts and weekends
• Top Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules with flexibility. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day week to condensed schedules providing additional time away from the office; these are in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For other locations, salary reflects final work location. This is a general guideline; factors such as scope and responsibilities, experience, education, and market considerations are considered when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of PTO to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
