Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our Classified Cyber Security Team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs. In this role you will ensure classified information systems meet cyber security requirements and government directives through technical skill, risk assessment, and security control implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG) to determine technical Information Assurance (IA) requirements and conduct cyber risk assessment activities including vulnerability analysis, mitigation solution analysis, and implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for information system authorization, security management, and continuous monitoring of both networked and standalone information systems.
  • Ensure that selected security controls are implemented and operating as intended during all phases of the information system (IS) lifecycle.
  • Provide real‑time security monitoring using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to detect and respond to security incidents and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
  • Perform hardware and software configuration management, data integrity containment, and investigations on IA‑related security events.
  • Collaborate with cyber systems security engineers, system architects, and developers to oversee development of secure technical solutions.
  • Participate in the implementation of current and future security domains, including emerging technologies such as Cloud Computing and Dev Sec Ops .
Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance, based on an NAC/LC conducted within the last five years.
  • Access eligibility for Special Access Programs and subject to routine government security investigations.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Strong technical background in cyber security with experience in information assurance, risk management, and security controls.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to interpret complex security requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • DoD 8570 approved baseline certification for IAM Level I (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CAP, GSLC).
  • Experience leveraging security tools such as Splunk, Nessus, McAfee, Ivanti, ACAS, etc.
  • Experience as an ISSO implementing or managing cyber security requirements on classified systems under JSIG, NISPOM, ICD 503, and/or CNSSI 1253.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and Windows domain infrastructure (Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Group Policy Objects, Active Directory).
  • Advanced knowledge of comprehensive cybersecurity program assessment, risk management, system security plan review, secure system configuration, audit review, and incident remediation.
  • Experience with configuration management products such as Ansible, SCCM/MECM, Chef, Puppet, Blade Logic.
  • Possess DoD 8570 IAM Level

    II certification (CISSP, CASP, CAP) is preferred.

This position requires a government security clearance. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen and hold a Top Secret clearance with an investigation or CV date within five years.
