IIoT Controls Connection Reliability Engineer - Level 3

You will be the IIoT Controls Connection Reliability Engineer
- Level 3 for the Industrial Connectivity team which is responsible for ensuring reliable, secure data flow from production equipment to enterprise systems.

As the IIoT Controls Connection Reliability Engineer
- Level 3 you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining industrial communication solutions that enable real‑time reliability monitoring and predictive maintenance.

• Configure and program industrial protocols (Ether Net/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, Profinet, MQTT) to deliver machine data to the data lake.
• Install, commission, and support networking hardware, gateways, and edge devices from an OT perspective.
• Troubleshoot PLC, network, and communication issues while documenting configurations and architecture.
• Validate data quality and integrity and support commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering, and IT teams to implement scalable, secure connectivity solutions.

• Experience connecting machine platforms and capturing real‑time data
• Experience with standard IT hardware, software, networking
• Programming & scripting knowledge
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance

• Data analytics aspects of machine reliability. Proven experience with machine probability and statistical tools to analyze machine health.
• OPC UA, MTConnect, Modbus TCP, Ether Net/IP, MQTT, FOCAS (FANUC) knowledge.
• Network segmentation and firewalls experience
• Programming and scripting:
  Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, OPC UA SDKs, MQTT clients, XML/JSON, scripting for automation

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Onsite full‑time – The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
