Machinist
Sets up and operates horizontal, multi joint or vertical numerical control machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours; boring compound angular holes; doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spline, and keyway cutting and spray to exacting tolerances. Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling; follows sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup;
determines, sets, and monitors speeds, feeds; interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures, marks, and scribe's dimensions and reference points to client out stock for machining. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures. Equipment Monitoring:
Oversee automated systems, robotic assembly lines, or conveyor networks using computer-controlled interfaces and HMIs. Quality Assurance:
Conduct routine quality checks on processed or manufactured goods to ensure they meet exact specifications. Documentation:
Maintain accurate daily logs of machine downtime, performance metrics, and maintenance activities. Safety Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure work spaces are free of hazards.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 6 months additional education and/or related experience.
- Experience with robotics and CNC Machining.
- Experience with precision measuring Instruments - Micrometers, Preset Torque tools, Reference inspection gauges, Dial indicators.
- Ability to work 3/10 schedule and second shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal CNC Machining Certificate
