As a Senior Nondestructive Testing Inspector, you'll perform advanced inspections on metallic and composite aircraft structures while supporting production, sustainment, and advanced development programs. This role combines hands on inspection work, technical problem solving, continuous learning, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and mission readiness.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Senior Nondestructive Testing Inspector, you'll perform advanced inspections using multiple NDT methods while supporting some of Lockheed Martin's most innovative aerospace programs. You'll work alongside highly skilled inspectors, engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure aircraft structures meet the highest quality and performance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform nondestructive inspections using Penetrant, Radiography, and Ultrasonic testing methods
- Set up, operate, and maintain advanced computerized NDT equipment
- Inspect metallic structures, composite assemblies, bonded components, and weldments
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements to ensure product quality
- Support development and continuous improvement of inspection techniques and procedures
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical issues
- Assist in training and mentoring developing NDT inspectors through on the job instruction
- Maintain compliance with NAS 410 certification requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures
The ideal candidate is an experienced Nondestructive Testing professional who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and technical excellence. They enjoy solving complex inspection challenges, continuously expanding their expertise across multiple NDT disciplines, and collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure every aircraft meets the highest quality standards.
Must be able to work any shift or work schedule.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years Non-Destructive Inspection Testing experience and Documented previous NAS-410 Level II Training and OJT. Must have certifications in the following;
Penetrant (PT)
Radiography (RT)
Ultrasonic (UT)
Must have Interim secret clearance to start.
Desired
Skills:
- Certification in the following.
Magnetic Particle (MT)
Eddy Current (ET)
Shearography (ST)
Thermography (IRT)
- Aerospace experience.
- Ability to conduct OJT for trainees.
- Penetrant and Magnetic particle experience in aerospace setting.
- Ability to develop written techniques and procedures for approval by an NDT Level III.
- Must be able to demonstrate and pass general, specific, and practical examinations in above mentioned methods.
- Experience in robotic operated NDI equipment preferred.
- Experience in NDI testing various materials such as:
Composite Structures, Metallics, Bonded Assemblies, and welds.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications:
PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and computerized workstations.
- Must have experience in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
The base range for this position in California is $29.01 - $48.91.
