GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPEAs Co‑Manager (CM), you lead the store’s operations, driving performance in sales, service, expense control, talent development, and compliance. The CM oversees all operational aspects of a single retail store and mentors the Operations Manager (OM). This role offers a developmental path for leaders ready to expand their responsibilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Performance- Promote accountability to meet or exceed store goals in sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni‑channel, and shrink.
- Drive profitability through operational excellence, top‑line sales growth, and expense control.
- Use store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling and communicate needs to the GM.
- Review and react to financial and operational reports, including store visits and audits.
- Leverage company programs and tools to achieve store goals.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to enhance guest experience.
- Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
- Maintain punctual attendance and enforce the Ulta Beauty attendance policy.
- Attract, hire, and retain a diverse, high‑talent team.
- Build an engaged team that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand through collaboration and open communication.
- Create an inclusive environment that encourages growth and engagement.
- Provide comprehensive manager and associate professional development.
- Participate in ongoing brand and category training and ensure direct reports do so.
- Model teamwork and operational excellence alongside leadership.
- Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to achieve all Annual Performance Goals metrics.
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to and enforce the dress code.
- Execute inventory life‑cycle, truck, shipment, cycle counts, and vendor return processes.
- Use the scheduling tool to optimize staffing for guest experience and loss prevention.
- Use the task management tool to prioritize store workload.
- Protect assets by meeting all store standards and operating procedures.
- Execute daily inventory control processes and report theft incidents as required.
- Support continuous improvement through technology and initiative adoption.
- Utilize company tools and resources to drive store improvements.
- Communicate business trends and opportunities to field leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–3+ years of fast‑paced retail or related management experience.
- Financial management: driving sales, interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses.
- Retail management: monitoring inventory, achieving operational excellence, driving service culture, and executing merchandising directives.
- Leadership management: attracting, developing, and motivating talent; navigating change; and influencing teams.
- Proficiency with basic technology (Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, Apple devices).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to handle pressure and use good judgment in ambiguous situations.
Position Requirements
- Flexible full‑time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Availability for off‑site meetings and overnight travel if required.
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shifts.
- Frequent bending, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shifts.
- Frequent lifting or moving up to 10 lbs; ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs.
- Continual coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

The pay range is $33.00 – $40.00 per hour. Additional compensation may be earned through the company's bonus plan. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
