Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Child Care Advisor is responsible for providing standard childcare intake services at District and Regional offices of the County Department of Public Social Services, or at CCRC main office, for Cal‑WORKs participants, and ensuring that parents receive required information regarding choosing childcare and referral to providers.

- Education:
Associate’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Social Work, Family Studies, or related field, or 2 years equivalent industry experience. - Technical
Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency with Windows programs and data entry.
- None required.
- Effective communication and high level of detail‑orientation and accuracy.
- Cooperative work, organizational, customer service and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and discretionary judgment.
- Reliability and predictable attendance.
- Flexibility and collegiality.
Requires 20% travel for site visits, trainings, Job Club presentations, and partner agency visits. Drivers must hold a current California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and DMV clearance.
Work Schedule & EnvironmentFull‑time onsite. Monday‑Friday with potential non‑traditional hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Work involves both office and direct community interactions.
Background and Health Clearance RequirementsBackground check required; additional verifications may include Live Scan, health clearance, MVR, CPR, federal debarment, and credit checks, depending on the specific duties.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience and training with the county CalSAWS.
- Preferred bilingual ability in English and Spanish or Armenian.
