JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the GL Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller, the Accountant III will assist in ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger. Responsibilities include transaction accounting, processing journal entries, and reconciling various general ledger accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Record, classify and summarize financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Initiate and process journal entries; both transactional and month‑end closing.
- Prepare various reconciliations, as assigned.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies in accounting transactions.
- Ensure that regular month‑end checklists are completed according to the timeline.
- Prepare schedules required for year‑end financial audit and assist with audit completion.
- Cross‑train and provide backup for transactional entry responsibilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and time‑keeping.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of company activity.
- Represent the company with courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion.
- Maintain familiarity and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strictly adhere to State, Federal and company policies, journey management instructions and policies.
- Perform other duties assigned as needed.
- Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support a zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability for safe work practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles.
- High proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and reliably.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Driver’s license required.
