Reporting directly to the On-Site Accounting Manager, this position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our Prudhoe Bay location.

About the Role

The Accounting Technician (AP/AR) is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable. This position manages customer billing, collections, account reconciliations, and customer communications while also assisting with Accounts Payable and general accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable
  • Maintain customer billing systems and records
  • Generate invoices, statements, and customer reports
  • Monitor aging reports and assist with collections activities
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries
  • Maintain accurate customer account information
Accounts Payable
  • Review invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
  • Process payments in a timely manner
  • Respond to vendor inquiries
  • Assist with vendor account reconciliations
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end closing activities
  • Support audit preparation and documentation requests
  • Prepare reports and provide information to management as needed
Travel & Administrative Support
  • Coordinate employee travel arrangements, including airline reservations
  • Communicate schedule updates with camp billeting personnel
  • Perform general administrative and office support duties
  • Answer phones, file records, and maintain documentation
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Support a safe and productive work environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in financial records
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (relevant accounting experience may be considered in lieu of education)
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with 10-key data entry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience with Sage, Net Suite, or similar ERP systems
  • Experience in oil and gas, mining, transportation, construction, or related industries
  • Familiarity with North Slope operations and remote workforce support
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
