Tutoring, Math Teacher
Overview
"Opportunities start here" is more than a slogan at Matanuska-Susitna College (Mat-Su College); it is our mission. Our aim is to transform student aspirations into realities. Mat-Su College seeks applicants who possess a desire to help students succeed in reaching their goals. The Learning Resource Center (LRC) of Mat-Su College seeks math tutors for the academic year. The Elizabeth J. Fallon Learning Resource Center (LRC) offers tutorial services in math and writing for all MSC students.
Math tutors are available during scheduled hours for any student enrolled in Mat-Su College courses. Tutoring is conducted face-to-face and is available on a walk-in basis only. Math resources are available for student use in the Learning Resource Center.
Tutor hours vary each semester and are subject to change. Hours of availability for the current semester are posted outside the LRC and on the department web site. Tutors work with students in a variety of course work at different skill levels. Math tutors do not provide correction service for math homework; rather, they help students grasp principles of mathematics and devise strategies for using them.
