Responsibilities- Report to the School Administrative Secretary upon arrival.
- Follow the lesson plan left by the teacher for whom you are substituting, in accordance with district policies.
- Maintain routines and procedures of the school and classroom as directed by the regular teacher.
- Oversee and manage student behaviors in class, during lunch, and recess.
- Follow all policies, rules, and procedures applicable to regular teachers.
- Operate and care for instructional equipment used in the classroom.
- Check and record student attendance.
- Inform the absent teacher or building administrator of any problems or special information about a student.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow Matanuska Susitna Borough School District board policies.
Applicant must be a high school graduate or have completed a GED.
Applicants must complete an interview, background check, and fingerprints.
Experience working with children and adolescents is preferred.
Physical DemandsLight work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds frequently.
