Summary:

Under supervision, direct and indirect, performs a variety of tasks, assisting in providing a learning environment in concert with the charter school's mission, philosophy, and foundational aspects. Prescribed procedures will be followed for typical, daily tasks. Independent judgment will be relied upon for unusual or unique situations.

• 1 – Assists charter school teachers in performing screening/testing procedures.
  Frequency: Daily.

• 2 – Assists charter school teachers in grading and recording student assignments/papers using established guidelines and instructions.
  Frequency: As Required.
  Band/Grade: A1.
• 3 – Assists charter school teachers in monitoring individual student and small group activities to ensure appropriate behavior and child safety.
  Frequency: Daily.
  Band/Grade: A1.
• 4 – Assists charter school Teacher Administrator with coordination with maintenance requirements.
  Frequency: As Required.
  Band/Grade: A1.
• 5 – Cleans/dusts equipment to prolong life of equipment and reduce maintenance requirements. Notifies maintenance personnel of equipment repairs and work orders.

• 6 – Provides assistance in the coordination and scheduling of student field trips and extracurricular activities.
  Frequency: As Required.

• 7 – Assists charter school personnel in serving student, teacher, and family needs.
  Frequency: Daily.
  Band/Grade: A1/B2.
• 8 – Intercepts unfamiliar personnel on school grounds, requests identification and/or summons charter school Teacher Administrator according to established guidelines.
  Frequency: Daily.
  Band/Grade: A1.
• 9 – Monitors student activities during other than classroom periods to ensure appropriate behavior and safety is maintained according to established guidelines. Directs students in proper use of school equipment/facilities and prevents and/or intervenes in student arguments/fights.
  Frequency: Daily.

• 10 – Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific knowledge of and belief in the charter school's mission, philosophy, and foundational aspects.

High school diploma or GED is required.

Must have current CPR certification. Must have ability to comply with strict confidentiality standards regarding school district matters.

Experience with Spalding, Core Knowledge, and math is required. Previous education, training, work or life experience which provides reasonable evidence of the successful performance of the various tasks listed.

Must have a valid Alaskan Driver's license.
