Systems Engineer

TEKsystems is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a Hybrid Remote opening that will be a 10‑month contract to start with potential for permanent conversion in 2027. 1‑day on-site in Palmer, Alaska / 4‑days Remote schedule.

• IT Infrastructure Engineer‑level resource to help support both operational workload and upcoming infrastructure initiatives.
• Managing physical and virtual infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud services).
• Monitoring and supporting system performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Participating in disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response work.
• Implementing or supporting security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, patching, and hardening.
• Deploying or maintaining Windows Server, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper‑V), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
• Collaborating with our Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams to ensure stability and reliability.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, execution‑focused, and comfortable handling both project tasks and day‑to‑day operational support.

This is a Contract position based out of Palmer, AK.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Palmer, AK.

This position is anticipated to close on Feb 17, 2026.
