The Alaska Court System is seeking dependable and organized individuals to serve as bailiffs—an important role that supports the court’s mission of delivering fair and efficient justice.
Responsibilities- Escort jurors in and out of the courtroom before, during, and after trials.
- Maintain the integrity of the deliberation process by ensuring jurors are not contacted or influenced by outside parties.
- Assist with coordinating meals, lodging, and transportation for jurors when necessary.
- Accompany jurors to meals and provide support for basic personal errands as needed.
These positions are on‑call and temporary, and may involve multiple days in a row. The applicant may be called for as little as two hours or up to eight hours a day, with gaps of a week or two without a shift. Alternatively, you may be called back for consecutive‑day coverage.
QualificationsGraduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate and six months of responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to deal tactfully with the public.
