Northwest Partners is supporting a major initiative with a top-tier organization in the insurance space and is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to contribute to the success of this work. This role will design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise business intelligence, reporting, data integration, and analytics solutions while strengthening data quality, governance, and production reliability.

What YOU will do
  • Develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards, data extracts, governed datasets, and ETL/ELT processes based on business and technical requirements.
  • Design and support data integration, data mart, reporting, and analytics solutions from source systems through downstream consumption.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, source-to-target mappings, business rules, and solution designs.
  • Perform complex data analysis to support requirements gathering, metric definition, source validation, documentation, and data quality validation.
  • Conduct unit testing and validate outputs, reconciliation results, and business acceptance criteria.
  • Troubleshoot reports, data extracts, ETL/ELT processes, scheduled jobs, and production data solutions, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data lineage, technical specifications, runbooks, business rules, and support procedures.
  • Support testing, user acceptance testing, change management, release planning, deployment readiness, and operational support.
  • Support data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, access control, and reporting governance standards for enterprise data assets.
  • Optimize existing solutions to improve efficiency, automation, performance, reliability, and supportability.
  • Provide technical direction for solution design, development standards, code reviews, testing practices, and operational readiness as required.
  • Mentor team members and contribute subject matter expertise to complex data, reporting, and enterprise initiatives.
What YOU will bring us
  • Advanced SQL skills using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or comparable relational database management systems.
  • Advanced experience developing reports and dashboards with Power BI, Reporting Services, Business Objects, Cognos, or comparable reporting tools.
  • Strong experience creating and supporting ETL/ELT processes using Integration Services, Informatica, or comparable data integration tools.
  • Experience supporting data extracts, data integrations, data marts, governed datasets, and downstream reporting or analytics consumption.
  • Experience designing and maintaining OLAP cubes, semantic layers, and data models using Analysis Services or comparable technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional data modeling and data warehousing methodologies.
  • Experience implementing data quality metrics, validation processes, exception reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of production support practices, including scheduling, orchestration, monitoring, incident triage, root cause analysis, and operational readiness.
  • Experience creating technical specifications, source-to-target mappings, business rules, lineage documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, metadata, stewardship, reporting governance, access controls, secure data handling, and auditability expectations.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, data flows, and processes, identify change impacts, and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, manage competing deadlines, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, data analytics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of related BI, data engineering, data integration, reporting, analytics, or enterprise IT experience.
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise data solutions in production environments.
  • Experience with cloud, hybrid, or modern data platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or comparable technologies is preferred.
