Alaska Veterans & Pioneers Home – Assisted Living Aide On-Call (Palmer)
Eligibility: This position is open to Alaska residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify.
Position Details: General Government Unit (GGU) – Range 9, $19.77 per hour.

Responsibilities: Provide high-quality personal care to assisted‑living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. Follow the resident’s Assisted Living Plan and assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathtubs, lifts, walkers, and canes. Participate in a team that offers programs promoting physical well‑being and social interaction, engaging residents in meaningful activities with peers, family, friends, and staff.

You will work in the Palmer Veterans and Pioneer Home, located at 250 E Fireweed Ave, Palmer, Alaska, surrounded by scenic views and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. You will report to a registered nurse and be responsible for assisting residents with personal care.

Other Job Information:
- This is a 24‑hour facility.
- The Pioneer Home follows an Eden Alternative model, incorporating plants, flowers, and pets.
- Employees undergo continuous screening for tuberculosis and criminal history.
Physical Capability: Must be physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, bending, and pushing.

Additional Requirements:
Successful applicants may be required to pass a background investigation, fingerprinting, provide proof of tuberculosis clearance, and may need to operate state vehicles, holding a valid Alaska driver’s license.
Interview Process: If selected, you will need to provide two professional references and three character references itional documentation may be required before hire.
