Job Summary
Electrician position located at Anchorage, Alaska—Joint Base Elmendorf‑Richardson. This is a non‑exempt, full‑time day‑shift role with compensation of $54.41 per hour. Anticipated start date:
August 25, 2026.

- Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
- Replace lamps and ballasts.
- Inspect, install, and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems.
- Clean lighting fixtures, replace receptacles and switches, and perform miscellaneous re‑laming repairs.
- Conduct minor electrical installations and repairs, including outlet repair or replacement, circuit breaker(s), sensors, ground fault interruptions, etc.
- Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
- Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
- Operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights, including work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
- Distinguish between different wire colors and drive up to a 1‑ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer.
- Use digital inspection tools such as infrared thermal imaging and wear required PPE.
- Remove and replace wiring and conduit as required.
- Comply with NFPA 70 and 70E and ANSI C2 standards.
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical experience.
- Alaska electrical license preferred (Journeyman level). Alaska electrical administrator license preferred.
- Alaska certificate of fitness required.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to work in varied environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, including back shift and weekends, with notice.
- Lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
- Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motions for several hours.
- Stand or sit for several hours, climb in and out of a vehicle, and go up and down stairs.
- Work under pressure for extended periods.
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- REALID‑compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ) for federal installation access.
- Background check and E‑Verify for security clearances.
