Summary
The Electrician Assistant III will work under the supervision and instruction of a Maintenance Electrician to learn, assist, and perform the duties of a Maintenance Electrician as follows.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Understands and follows safe working procedures.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
This is a nonexempt position with an hourly base pay rate. Team members can expect to work a typical rotation of 3-months at our Alaska shore plant and 1-month on furlough throughout the calendar year. Work weeks provide a high volume of overtime pay. The estimated gross weekly earning for this role would be about $2,874.
Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska.
Required Qualifications- 2 years of experience as a maintenance electrician (level I or II)
- Ability to read and write basic English, proficient in basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of and ability to use standard industry hand and power tools.
- OSHA 10 training.
- Arc Flash and Contact release training.
- Fall protection training.

Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand English, and utilize teamwork skills. The employee is frequently required to speak English and use decision making skills. The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service, mentoring, problem analysis, training, and supervision skills. The employee will be occasionally required to read and write English, perform basic math, use exercise independent judgment, and use discretion.
