Asphalt Superintendent

The selected Asphalt Superintendent will be a key addition to the team overseeing DOT projects in MA, CT, and NY. Prior experience managing asphalt paving crews on projects of similar size and scope is required for serious consideration.

• Running 3-4 regional jobsites concurrently, valued at $5M-$25M
• Collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract specs
• Monitoring work progress and compliance from all selected subcontractors
• Proactively identifying and escalating issues that could impact the established project budget and timeline
• Holding meetings onsite with key stakeholders and personnel to provide progress reports
• Delegating tasks effectively and holding others accountable to achieve project milestones
• Keeping schedules updated ensuring proper allocation of labor and equipment resources
• Helping to enforce the site safety and QC plans
• Helping to mentor and develop confidence in field personnel
• Assisting in the development of a strategic growth plan for the division

• 5+ years of field leadership experience on DOT construction projects of similar size and scope
• Prior experience representing paving contractor on public and private sector paving projects
• Successful track record of completing highway paving projects exceeding $10M
• Prior experience updating project schedules and creating look aheads
• Knowledge of how to operate relevant equipment (for purposes of training crew members)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
  Effective people management skills including the ability to delegate
• Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure that project milestones are achieved

• Salary 130-155k (based on experience and certifications)
