Special Education Teacher in Palmer, MA

An opportunity is available for an Elementary Special Education Teacher specializing in grades K-4 to work in a substantially separate classroom designed to support therapeutic needs. This contract position is based in Palmer, MA, and runs from August 25, 2025, through June 19, 2026, with daily hours from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with special needs in a substantially separate setting.
• Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) aligned with therapeutic goals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to address student needs.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to promote growth and independence.
• Maintain a supportive, structured classroom environment conducive to learning and development.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience working with elementary students, preferably K-4.
• Ability to manage a therapeutic classroom setting, understanding behavioral and educational interventions.
• Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and staff.
