SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Position:
Instructor of Special Education with a schedule consisting of classes in all academic areas in a four-year regional vocational technical high school with an enrollment of approximately 650 students in fifteen technical programs.

• Moderate Disabilities license as established by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Candidates should be licensed in other subject areas as established by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in English or Math is preferred.

• Plan and deliver well-structured lessons as stated in Standard 1-A-4 of the Massachusetts Teacher Rubric
• Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and deliver well-structured units of instruction
• Assess students through a variety of assessment methods
• Regularly contact and have 2-way communication with parents and families
• Regularly reflect on the effectiveness of lessons and units, and respond accordingly
• Collaborate with academic and vocational staff in order to deliver the highest level of instruction possible
• Provide assistance, support, and specialized instruction to students in classes as needed
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
• Implement and update IEPs, develop appropriate goals, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
• Assist in MCAS administration relative to accommodation of students with IEP’s
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration

The compensation will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary schedule. ($87,470.00 - $)
