Manufacturing Engineer, IMI Norgren LLC, Palmer, MA.
Utilize Lean concepts to support continuous improvement of products and ensure cost effectiveness. Assist with the development of manufacturing process, focused on assembly operations. Evaluate existing and design new processes for safety, consistent product quality and cost effectiveness. Perform sustaining engineering tasks and utilizing the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process to document product modifications. Review existing equipment, tooling, test apparatus, and prepare documents, work instructions, and route cards for manufacturing process.
Assess replacement components to identify cost reduction opportunities. Compare technical specifications. Compile and prepare required documentation. Support New Product Development (NPD), contract manufacturing projects, and existing products. Survey and identify replacement components for reasons of obsolescence or cost reduction. Identify and contact vendors. Compare technical specifications.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m.
- 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience.
Must have two (2) years of experience with/in the following:
- Leveraging knowledge in ISO Quality Management Systems and Lean Continuous Improvement to ensure compliance, and enhance quality;
- Implementing control plans and conducting Process Failure Effect Analysis (pFMEAs) to reduce risk;
- Assisting with cost analysis;
- Performing root cause analysis on non-confirming materials and processes; and
- Reviewing engineering designs/drawings and recommending changes to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
Must have one (1) year of experience with/in the following:
- Utilizing MRP systems to optimize production planning, inventory management, and material procurement; and
- Developing process documentation, including validations, work instructions, bills of materials (BOM), and routings.
