Position: Diesel Mechanic Class B Technician (3rd Shift)

Position Details

$31.78 - $41.33 per hour depending on experience, $2,500 Sign‑On Bonus, 4‑day work week (Thursday–Saturday 5:30 pm – 5:30 am and Wednesday 11:30 pm – 5:30 am).

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, reefer units and converter dollies under minimal supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal trucking regulations.
  • Communicate and interact with co‑workers professionally, answering questions accurately and timely.
  • Document, complete, and keep work orders current for all repairs and parts used daily.
  • Perform road‑call services as needed.
  • Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units). Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
  • Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed road‑worthy.
  • Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts, replacing them as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, lubricating equipment and machinery using hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, precision instruments) and power tools (pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks and hoists).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
