Senior HSE Engineer

This position is with Honeywell Technologies / Process Technology Business Unit and is based at the Palmetto LNG Manufacturing Plant located in Palmetto/FL - USA.

As a Senior HSE Engineer at Honeywell, you will be responsible for ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility within our Process Technology manufacturing operations. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of employees, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting sustainability.

In this role, you will impact the organization by implementing effective health, safety, and environmental programs that minimize risks and enhance operational efficiency.

You will report directly to the Port Manatee LNG Plant HSE Manager and work full-time onsite at our LNG Heat Exchangers Manufacturing Plant located in Palmetto, FL (Tampa Area). The work schedule may include weekly rotation within the Plant's Production work shifts.

This is an HSE field position, with an estimated 50% of the time working on the shop floor of the Palmetto LNG Plant.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in administering the Honeywell Health, Safety, & Environmental Management System.
  • Execution, tracking and continual improvement of Environmental programs including hazardous waste, air emissions, and storm water compliance.
  • Collect data and track key HSE indicators and implement actions to improve HSE performance.
  • Provide HSE field support to all Production areas and warehouse, conduct shop floor rounds, inspections, audits and have direct and consistent interaction with the production teams
  • Apply Stop Work Authority when necessary and empower / train others to apply it
  • Integrate HSE processes and safe work practices into daily operations.
  • Deliver HSE training to new hires and existing employees
  • Participate in Shift Starter / Tier 1 work shift Production meetings
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, review, update and deploy Safe Wok Procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Collaborate with various internal department Leaders to improve the Safety culture and overall HSE performance
  • Lead and support incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis methodology.
  • Track HSE related actions, metrics and compliance tasks using our HSE Management System (MST).
  • Identify and implement HSE related projects
Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in HSE with emphasis on industrial safety
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in a manufacturing, fabrication or mechanical/ welding industry
  • Proven ability to develop positive relationships and collaboration with Production teams to improve the safety culture
  • Pro-active behavior to engage employees at all levels.
  • Experience in incident investigation and reporting, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office package and use of digital systems
  • Availability to attend work shifts when necessary and according to a daily work schedule previously negotiated with the HSE Manager
  • Some flexibility to eventually work off normal hours and conduct Case Management

We Value:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering or in a related field
  • OSHA 30h training
  • ASP or CSP (certified or in progress)
  • Previous field HSE experience in manufacturing or mechanical / welding construction areas
  • Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is a plus
