Accounts Payable Accountant

A local distribution and manufacturing company is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to support full-cycle A/P operations, reconciliations, month-end close, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, ERP system experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting process improvements and financial reporting.

• Process, review, and code vendor invoices for accuracy and appropriate approval prior to payment.
• Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments in a timely manner.
• Perform invoice and general ledger data entry.
• Reconcile vendor statements, statements of account, and sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid and payroll accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Process employee expense reports and resolve payables-related discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audit requests.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Internship experience or 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, or general accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAVISION or similar ERP systems.
• Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
