Industrial Pipe Welder / Pipefitter
Palmyra, PA
Full-Time | Direct Hire
$30–$40/hour, based on experience
Industrial Piping | TIG | Stick | 6G | Stainless | Carbon Steel
We are hiring experienced Industrial Pipe Welders / Pipe fitters for direct-hire opportunities with an established industrial mechanical contractor based in Palmyra, PA.
This is not a production welding job.
We are looking for experienced welders who can fit, lay out, fabricate, and weld industrial piping in the field and shop. You should be comfortable working from blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings and be able to produce high-quality welds on carbon steel and stainless steel pipe.
The strongest candidates will have experience with 6G pipe welding, TIG welding, stick welding, sanitary stainless, pipe fit-up, rigging, fabrication, and industrial plant work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Fit, fabricate, and weld industrial piping systems
- Perform 6G pipe welding on carbon steel and stainless steel
- TIG weld stainless steel pipe
- Stick weld carbon steel pipe
- Perform sanitary stainless welding and purge setups when required
- Measure, cut, bevel, thread, and prepare pipe for fabrication and installation
- Assemble and fit pipe using clamps, levels, high-low gauges, torches, and other fitting tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and fabrication drawings
- Calculate takeoffs, offsets, measurements, and pipe layouts
- Install process piping and mechanical piping systems
- Rig and position pipe spools, equipment, and structural components
- Work with chain falls, hoists, lifts, and other rigging equipment
- Perform field fabrication and shop fabrication
- Assist with equipment installation, structural work, shutdowns, and plant maintenance
- Inspect your work and maintain high welding and fabrication standards
- Follow all jobsite and industrial safety requirements
Welding Experience We're Looking For
Qualified candidates should have strong experience with several of the following:
- GTAW / TIG welding
- SMAW / Stick welding
- 6G pipe welding
- Carbon steel pipe
- Stainless steel pipe
- Schedule 10 through Schedule 80 piping
- Sanitary stainless piping
- Purge welding
- Pipe fit-up
- Process piping
- Industrial piping
- Mechanical piping
- Structural fabrication
- Rigging
- Millwright work
- Plant shutdowns and outages
Experience with MIG, flux-core, structural welding, and fabrication is also valuable, but this position requires someone who is comfortable working with pipe.
What We're Looking For
- Several years of professional pipe welding and pipe fitting experience
- Ability to independently fit and weld pipe
- Ability to read P&IDs, blueprints, and isometric drawings
- Strong understanding of pipe layout and fabrication
- Ability to calculate offsets, takeoffs, and measurements
- Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel
- Experience welding in multiple positions
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot fit-up and field installation problems
- Experience working in industrial plants or manufacturing facilities preferred
- Ability to safely perform rigging and material-handling work
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable transportation
- Ability to pass required weld tests
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when projects require it
Pay & Schedule
- $30–$40/hour for experienced, qualified pipe welders and pipe fitters
- Pay is based on actual welding, fitting, and industrial experience
- Full-time, direct-hire position
- Year-round work
- Overtime after 8 hours worked in a day
- Saturdays paid at overtime rates
- Sundays paid at double time
- Additional premium pay for qualifying holiday work

Projects are generally located within approximately 1.5 hours of the Palmyra, PA shop, with common work throughout the Harrisburg, Lancaster, Allentown, and surrounding areas.
